waxing

This is the blessed weekend that we picked to wax the Post Office Floor. Thank Heavens for Tod with out him doing the tough job I would live at the PO for 3 days straight. Instead we are done the waxing and the scrubbing and it is Saturday evening and now we can just relax for the night. Waxing. . .scrubbing. . . moving carpets second jobs sure are not luxurious!

bike & run

The time has come to start mixing my running with my biking. It has finally gotten nice enough outside, (except the wind) that the MS bike Tour is just around the corner. With that being said it is time to hit the pavement; rain , wind or just plain cold. I went to day with the group and it was not that warm. We had a great ride from Wilton Hall to Devon about 44km, but the best was the food after. Tanya made Roast Beef and gravy, for some very delicious buns. Others brought fruit and veggies. It was a good thing I biked the whole way because I ate enough food after to make up for it. I loved being out on my bike even in the cold and little wind that we had.

ANTICIPATION

In anticipation:
2 days for us 1 day for them
We are on the family count down for G & G Thomson to come home for good!
They will say good bye to Australia a land that they have come to love and people they will always remember. They will return to kids they haven't seen for almost a year (some of us) and grandchildren that they also haven't seen for 10 months, and a grandson who they have never seen. I am speaking on the behalf of my siblings but I am sure they are just as excited to have our parents back in the country and close as well as the grand kids are so ecstatic. The HUB on the July 1st get together has been flying for the last 5 months and with the arrival of G & G on Friday this will put us all at the mercy of the "Hurry up and wait game". For July to arrive any sooner than it could, so we can all be together and have the family unite before we start to spread any further. The oldest grand kids, being 18, will hit College or University and 1 off to a mission. Life will start to take a different track and with that we all need to be prepared to keep the doors open even when we depart after this long awaited July reunion.
Gosh . . . do you think I miss my family?

So many good memories and traditions that we don't even call traditions, but if I think back on all the times we get together they are the Traditions. I can't wait to add new ones.

walking with a young woman

When you bring home your child do you really know what heartaches you will be faced with through out their life. Heartaches don't have to be hardships, they can be stepping stones on their way to youth, and at some point adulthood. I found this quote and instantly thought of A.
"Don't laugh at a youth
for her affections;
she is only trying on
one face after another
to find a face of her own.
Logan Pearsall Smith
A has been playing with faces for awhile, not a child anymore, but yet not an adult. This phase of "Young Women" has her in search for a face of her own. I don't recall what my mothers emotions were when I was going through this phase in my life, but I do know how I am feeling and how I tell myself that their would be no test put on me if I wasn't strong enough to get through it. If I stay strong and level headed life will go in the direction that it was meant to take. As for the faces. . .I am sure as much as youth try on faces, we as adults try on faces as we change with our children and with ourselves.
