Celebrating me!,

Well I have passed my 4 year mark, when I tied up my runners and took off on that red dusty road in North Carolina, and have not looked back!
I was visiting my sister for her 40th birthday and was away from my family for the first time ever. I had 2 weeks to hangout and just be me. Not wife, mom, taxi, full time worker, home maker or volunteer. Just ME! In the 2 weeks that I was gone I learned to love running. I had no idea what impact it would have on my life but it has been just past 4 years and I am still enjoying the rewards of my hard work and dedication.
I have lost upto 69lbs. Gained my self confidence and put a few goals in my site. Every year I set a few running goals and strive to hit new PR's. This July I had the most amazing chance to run an Ultra-Relay Sinister7!! It was a 22.7km hike/run in the Crowsnest Pass possible in the dark. It just so happened that I got to do half in the evening and into the dark night. It was really a runners high, I can not explain, in words, the way I felt when I came across my finish line to see Tod standing there waiting for me with a smile, hug and a way to go your awesome!! Most people know how easy it is to get me to tear up well I had tears but it was quarter to midnight and fairly dark in the back of the mountains, so I'm not sure if he saw a few trickle down. My 'runners high' that I just cant put into enough words. Without the support of him and my kids. I wouldn't be where I am.
I started a running group in April and had 14ladies coming out to learn to run 5km. Some had never laced up runners for a run and a few just wanted to work on technique. Together we finished a 10week program and they are all still running and love to have the company of others to help push them a little or just to know that the road isn't always lonely. I would love to do more running groups in the fall, just to share my love for the sport!
Learning to juggle my interests with my family and husband has proven to be difficult sometimes, but with little reminders everyonce in a while, I know that both can be a part of ME!
Before I share my pictures of before and afters I want Tod to know how much his support and love means to me. I have spent the last 19 yrs with this amazing guy who supports me in all the crazy adventures that I do! Love ya babe with all my heart!
