It has been a very good season for soccer. Oakly and Aspen's teams made it to the League Playoffs - won and know Oakly's team is off to Edson for Provincials. Aspen's team made it to Provincials but opted out of participating do to girls going on holiday's. This is what kept our June nights very busy, we were running the kids to soccer twice a week and sometimes 3 times. Then just to mix it up a bit we had Avery's "Toss Ball" games and practices on Tuesday nights. Avery had fun learning about ball and discovered that she could throw really well, it's her batting that we need to work on. I am hoping she has Tod's hand eye coordination. I didn't get along with the ball and bat so well, so I really disliked playing the sport. Way to go kids it was a very fast month with all that running. In the midst of it all Oakly turned 14!
Yay! we have another potential driver. He took his learners test on the 8th and didn't get it, discouraged he took it again the following week and again didn't pass. That was the end of that until his finals were done then he walked up to the registrars office and took his test. When I came home from work that Thursday afternoon he had the biggest smile on his face and was ready to go for a drive. We had hair cuts that night so Tod met us and Oakly drove home from Leduc.
That brought us to Friday, last day of classes and work Yipee!! Summer is here!! We were all in anticipation of leaving on Saturday for G & G Thomson's House to see the rest of our family. All 34 of us and it was long over do. Before we could get ready for the big day we had a surprise birthday party we had been waiting to do for Oakly.
Between 6-7pm the kids started to arrive and we had 25-30 kids and the rain came down. I was not sure my house was going to survive, but despite the rain the kids were outside playing. It was a great night. Thanks to Jenn, Kaylyn, and Emily for helping to plan the party.

Oakly with a little birthday cake smoosh!! The
