We have been gone for 14 days exactly and we are on the home stretch.
Since we arrived in Utah to visit family we have been buisy. Staying up beyond normal bed times, lots of laughing and playing with cousins, home cooked meals(we so loved), yogurt stores(mmm), moms morning runs(with new partners) and just being with family! Thanks to D & A for the AWESOME time in Utah. The trip to Menchies will always be a good laugh. Thanks to T & H for sending me to the lake with the kids, when I'm peeling in another 2 days I'll be reminded of the lovely heat and sun that I will so miss. I love my Bros & their families. Miss you all, already.
Menchies story:
We were at Menchies(a most delicious yogurt store). The heat was still out, although it was after 9pm. We were sitting outside, when a cute grandma came over to Oakly, put her arm around him and asked him if he would go say 'HI' to her granddaughter. The grandma told us that her granddaughter thought this boy was cute. So she came over(life is to short to pass up these moments, the grandma thought.) We convinced Oakly to go over to talk to the girl and then we articles a conversation with her parents. They were just in Utah visiting grandma and were on there way home the next morning to Washington. Oakly had a good 10min conversation with Madeline before they departed ways he didn't just say buy-he gave her a hug! The grandma winked at us and Madelines face was a Kodak moment! I am so glad Oakly took the time to go and talk to Madeline. It made her night and really life is to short to let things like that pass you by.
Rigby Lake:
I had the opportunity to take the 6 kids to the lake for the day(Mom-Aunt, Oakly, Aspen, Kendra, Sydnie, Avery, Ashlyn.) It was Sunny, Hot, sandy and the best part there were a few boys for flirting. The girls had to drag Oakly out into the water, when they got him to the dock they managed to keep him out there for a few hours. The littler girls made sandcastles, mermaid bodies on themselves and managed to have a few running races into the water. Kendra noticed a few boys on the dock that she new and as a good big sister came over to get the little girls to use for flirting purposes. It was very fun to watch the hole dynamics of the flirting. It hasn't changed in 20 years, probably won't either. The day at the lake was so much FUN! Thanks kids for being so good!
Orange Leaf another amazing yogurt store. It's Idahos' hotspot!
So now we are almost home and I am very excited to sleep in my own bed but have some loneliness leaving my family so far away. I really miss my sister in laws fantastic cooking, creative minds and best of all the way they just love me for me! I do miss my Bros and the family stuff, I love my nieces and nephews to pieces and miss there infectious goofiness.
R & K thank you so much for stopping so I could see the kids and meet Miss Brooklyn. K if I was around I would be your baby whisperer anytime! :)
Elizabeth, your growing up and changing so much. Just remember life is what you make it. You always have to live with what you choose, just make sure you are willing to stand behind your choice.
Love ya'll thanks for a great week of family fun!!

Glenwood Adventures park
An adventure for every family. This place was amazing!! From a Giant Canyon Swing (1,300 feet over the Colorado River, The Canyon Flyer Alpine Coaster(races 3,400feet down the mountain), Soaring Eagle Zip Ride(2 person zip ride), and the Bungee Jump(70feet) this were the big attractions and then a handful of other things that will keep you going for the day, Rock wall, Lazer tag, 4D Theater, Little Giddy-Up, sand -box, cave tours, amazing maze and I'm sure I have forgotten something but you get the point.
Our day started off with the climax ride, the SWING! As Tod would say I only dropped the sh** bomb a few times (100). I truly thought I was going to die on the swing. Avery and I watched Tod, Oakly & Aspen go on it with no problems, then it was our turn. I should have known from the get go that Avery should have rode with Tod and not me. I was shaking before the ride started, she was terrified too(probably because of me). We started off and the screaming started out loud and ferousioucs. The ride came to a stop and with great anticipation we both wanted off, like 5 mins ago. The attendee was coming over to lift our seat harness and said that it was stuck so he went over to the controls and he put us up in the air again! (seriously my PB from breakfast was having a hard time staying down) I was vibrating I was so scared and Avery held her tears in very well. It came to a stop and we were getting off no matter what. . . We can both say that we did the ride, 1 willing and the 2nd was forced. In saying that I can say "I DID THE RIDE TWICE!" wasn't feeling great for a few hours after that,(thanks dad for my motion sickness). Tod did the ride twice and would have done more if he wanted to.
We meet another family with kids their ages and hooked up with them for the day. They were all adrenaline seeking junkies. Tod, Oakly and Aspen (the other kids too) did the Bungee-Jump!! The Zip-Line was a double seated ride that compared to the swing, was nothing. Yet I didn't feel sick after. The Alpine Ride was the favorite of the day! :) we controlled the speed of the sled and when we got to the bottom all you had to do was sit back while it pulled you up.
The Rock Wall was a great in-between activity. Avery had to try it once and then she was hooked. She climbed that wall more than a dozen times.
Our Adventure day was just that A Pharis Family Adventure!!

Water babies
We are on day 6 of this great family trip and it's been full of FUN!;)
Yesterday we experienced July 4th. We set off in the morning to hit a miniature golf course for some serious family competitiveness. Well we hit three different locations and they mini golf courses were either run down or non existing. That was a 2-3hr adventure with some great sites. We ended up going back to our hotel. The plan was to swim all afternoon and then hit the Aurora Festival in the Park. The girls swam ALL afternoon(dad did swim a bit), mom got a lot of homework done, Oakly was catching up on his life back in Thorsby. It was time to hit the Festival in the Park. We pulled up to the City Hall(spectacular building) to an outdoor stage, face painting, balloon animals(unbelievable) and it was so not our thing. I waited in line with Avery to get he face painted for about an hour and she was still 13th in line. She looked at me and said well mom I don't need my face painted. So we went to find the others and in unison they all said "well that's an hour out of our lives we will never get back!" We hit the road to Chili's for supper. We parked in the perfect parking lot to watch the fireworks (that weren't going to start until 9:30). Supper was good but not long enough, we still had a 2 1/2hr wait for the Fireworks. Well worth the wait and they mad up for the not so fantastic festival at city hall.
Today we left to make our way to Glenwood Springs, Colorado. We passed through Vail, it was breathtaking!! The drive was so quick with all the scenery, that when we reached Glenwood I was a little disappointed. I loved watching the mountains change as we went around every corner.
We spent over 6hrs at the Glenwood Springs-Hot Springs, for the rest of the day. It was beautiful day to be out in the water and our red/white stripes will remind us for a few days! Ouch!! Hopefully that dark skin tone will kick in tomorrow and we will all brown up quickly.
I do have to say that I am very thankful for what I am able to do with my children and the blessed life we live. My children have seen so much of North America and we have a lot more to see.

Take me out to the Ball game!!
Take me out to the ball game.
Take me out to the fun.
Buy me some peanuts and cracker jacks. . .
Americas favorite past time Baseball! We ventured to our 1st pro Baseball game. Rockies vs. Royals (Colorado/Kansas City) The pre game warm up was Fans meet the players special day! We ate the traditional stadium hot dogs & salted pretzels with cheese sauce, nachos grande(extra sour cream & hot peppers), churros, sugared almonds(I have a few cankers on my tongue from to many but so worth it) & soft ice cream! Yes, we ate and ate and ate and ate more. The game wasn't going very well for the Rockies so we followed what everybody else did, ate! The whole experience was so much fun! The crowds of people, the food, the inning games and the fact that it was July 3rd(day before the 4th)it was a great day for "take me out to the ball game"!
It was another night of swimming and then off to Thai Chili & Sushi for supper. We gorged again. . .Wonton soup, Thai rice, Spring rolls, Ginger Beef, California Rolls & Spider Rolls. So much food today I'm not sure that I'll be ready to eat tomorrow.
We had a FABULOUS Day!
Just a little side not I do miss Miley, Fluffy & Otis too!

Colorado
We are in Denver, Colorado!
Our 2nd day in Kansas was Awesome!! We did some major shopping and I found Miss Me jeans for under $100.00. It was so hard to pick my favorite. Everybody got some spanky clothes. Found a great new store for Avery's age with all the Bling a kid can handle.
We hit the "Cold Stone Creamery" for the best ice cream. You either "Like It", "Love it", or "Gotta Have It". Mmmm. . . It was even cheaper than a Dairy Queen trip, crazy!
We hit up "The Legends" movie theater, for a showing of "Transformers" 3D. It was a 2 1/2hr movie Avery wasn't sure she was going to make it through.
We all had very empty stomachs in anticipation for our meal to "Arthur Bryants Barbeque", don't forget the fries!! If you ever watch the show "Man vs. Food" this restaurant was featured. So it was a must! The food, lots of pulled pork was abundant. It is a fast food style restaurant with a southern thing. The challenge was on. . . we had our plates stacked with pulled pork, pulled beef, and a half slab of ribs and I think 4 pieces of bread each. They had 3 different kinds of sauce for nibbling. It was a food challenge that we LOST!! Arthur Bryants Barbeque WON!! It was so worth trying!! I do love my southern babrbeque :)
Today we hit the road for a 9hr (1000miles) drive to Denver, Colorado. I must say, it was a very peaceful ride and Oakly drove the last 3hrs to the Hotel. We had a few stops on our way, such as the OZ Museum in Wamego, Kansas. It was so cute! The kids were a little shocked that we took them to the museum, but how can you not!
We took a turn and found ourselves in a small town called Topeka. We found a drive in diner "Kuntz'" pulled in for some good grub and was shocked at the out come. The food was great, Homemade Burgers and the best Homemade Root Beer put into a float! Mmmmm
Ended the day with supper at "UNO Chicago Barbeque", a swim in the pool and a movie!
Tomorrow is a Rockies Colorado Baseball game. So looking forward to the tanning opportunity!;)
