Christmas 2010

It was a relatively quite Christmas morning with a trip to Mexico in November. The presents were few, but exactly what everybody wanted. . .Santa Rocks!
Avery. . .iPOD!!

Oakly. . .SICK SNOWBOARD!!

Aspen. . .BENCH Hoodie, white gold RING & EARRINGS!!

It really was the perfect little Christmas. . . I am hearing another Christmas Holiday being tossed around from the kids, and I am sure the parents could be persuaded to do it!

Master Tod Pharis

This was what Tod received for Christmas. . .
It started Christmas eve day when I picked up a package from the post office for Tod...
The envelope was addressed: "Master Todd Pharis". spelled wrong, but still intriguing non the less. Under the tree the gift went. Christmas morning Tod opened the envelope to find this note:
Dear Todd,
I saw through my snow globe that you have not been a very good boy!
Unfortunately I am having a shortage of coal so I thought this would be sufficient.
Try to be better next year!
Santa
In the package were 8 Brussel sprouts!! Tod's favorite! He has a LOVE ~ HATE relationship with these. The LOVE is that he never has to eat them and the HATE is that when he was young his parents made him eat them. This caused an involuntary reaction in his stomach and throat which caused them to come back up all over the dinner table. Since that 1 incident he will not touch them and always tells me if I eat them, he will no longer kiss me (it hasn't worked thus far). He was on a hunt to find out who new his terrible "Brussel Sprouts Story" that they would do this to him. He scrutinized the letter for punctuation, spelling, and grammar, and came up empty handed. . .Boy do we have fun with it still. I wonder what Santa will send him next year? He better try really hard to get on that "GOOD LIST"!

Our 4 legged family members

Miley, Otis and Fluffy got in the spirit of Christmas. Miley loves to play in the snow, while the cats watch her.Otis thinks he is part of the Nativity(another Shepard watching over his flock). Fluffy was the pre-chef. She sat on the stool the hole time we were baking.

Christmas baking

The whole family helped do the baking this year do to the fact that my thumb was in a splint and really not high functioning. Peanut Butter Kisses, and Butter Tarts!

Really it's been over a month?

It has been well over a month and a lot has happened. We have had Christmas and school break and with that brought a sickness to the house that the girls and Tod got. I am still not liking the smell of BARF!! The girls have always hit the bucket or the toilet but not this time. It was on their beds and the worst was the floors. It still smells and I have tried everything.

Our Anniversary was among the festivities and Tod was sick so it was cereal and soup for supper. How romantic was that! But to make it up we are leaving in 3 sleeps to go to Mexico to Celebrate our 15 years.  On the 3rd of January I took the kids to Rabbit Hill, to go skiing and snow boarding. Oakly boarded and the girls and I took to the ski's. I have not skied in 3 years, this was Aspen's 2nd time skiing and Avery's first time. I was very nervous with my thumb that I opted out of poles, do to the fact that I couldn't hold them.  Avery thought she was invincible and would not listen to me so after a few hours on the Bunny Hill, we rode the chair up to the top of the hill. She looked back at me once smiled and she was off. Ski's pointing straight and so was she, she made it down half way. All I could see of her was her pink jacket and a blur of brown as she took to rolling down a good portion of the hill. When I got to her she was just turning on the tears. I told her that's why you don't go straight down a hill. She didn't go back on the chair lift for a while, do to practicing her stopping and pie making practice on the Bunny Hill.  She now wants to hit the slopes every weekend! Maybe it will be Snowboard lessons for the girls and mom next time, so we can keep up with Oakly! It was a great day!!
