Well our snow days week has been very busy in our house. We didn't have school on Tuesday or Wednesday, due to the blizzard that hit our little town. The bus's weren't running so our school was missing more than half of the students. I still had to go into work for Tuesday, but on Wednesday we after lunch the weather cleared up so we announced it a family snow day. The Rhino was fired up, the sled fastened behind and the fun began. We played for hours! :)
Thursday brought on a new day. It was just before 8:00am when I heard aspen yell to me that there was something on the floor from Fluffy(our pregnant cat). She was in labour. I wanted the kids to watch the kittens birth so I arranged for grandma to come over while I went to work. We were having Family Biology! Fluffy took the kids and grandma to the basement were she climbed into the baby doll playpen and started to give birth to her first kitten. The kids were very excited to watch and learn. By 11:45am she had 3 kittens. Our new additions to our pet family.
That night Aspen climbed into bed and within minutes Fluffy was transporting the kittens to the bottom of the bed, under the covers. Aspen didn't sleep very well, every time she moved Fluffy would move to be next to her. She really needed Aspen for comfort. On Friday Fluffy found a new home in the toy box. She loves the attention of the kittens and the kids. It reminds me
We have a new job for Buddy (the dog). He has taken on the roll of protector when Fluffy is out of the toy box. Buddy will jump in the box and make sure all the babies stay together. When Fluffy comes back to feed Buddy hangs out for a while, before he goes for his break. Our crazy little world of animals!!!
On the Thursday we also had our drywall er come to finish sanding. Well the drywall dust was everywhere. I have spent the last 2 days scrubbing walls and baseboards. GGRRH!! On the happy side, I do feel like I am ready to paint the main floor of the house. I can consult with my personal interior decorator and figure out some new colors. YAY!! Keri I need you! Thank heavens for best friends.
If next week proves to be as busy as this past week I hope my family can hang on for the ride, it should be a fun one.
The joys of life!
