Spring has sprung

Tod went out for a quad ride to Brazeau Dam for the first time this spring. He returned home very muddy, but with a smile on his face. That means the family rides will start soon.

I started training for the MS Tour, first time out and we did 22kms. I really enjoy riding. Keri and I make a good pair we travel about the same speed and we enjoy the ride.

New additions!!!

Well our snow days week has been very busy in our house. We didn't have school on Tuesday or Wednesday, due to the blizzard that hit our little town. The bus's weren't running so our school was missing more than half of the students. I still had to go into work for Tuesday, but on Wednesday we after lunch the weather cleared up so we announced it a family snow day. The Rhino was fired up, the sled fastened behind and the fun began. We played for hours! :)

Thursday brought on a new day. It was just before 8:00am when I heard aspen yell to me that there was something on the floor from Fluffy(our pregnant cat). She was in labour. I wanted the kids to watch the kittens birth so I arranged for grandma to come over while I went to work. We were having Family Biology! Fluffy took the kids and grandma to the basement were she climbed into the baby doll playpen and started to give birth to her first kitten. The kids were very excited to watch and learn. By 11:45am she had 3 kittens. Our new additions to our pet family.

That night Aspen climbed into bed and within minutes Fluffy was transporting the kittens to the bottom of the bed, under the covers. Aspen didn't sleep very well, every time she moved Fluffy would move to be next to her. She really needed Aspen for comfort. On Friday Fluffy found a new home in the toy box. She loves the attention of the kittens and the kids. It reminds me

We have a new job for Buddy (the dog). He has taken on the roll of protector when Fluffy is out of the toy box. Buddy will jump in the box and make sure all the babies stay together. When Fluffy comes back to feed Buddy hangs out for a while, before he goes for his break. Our crazy little world of animals!!!

On the Thursday we also had our drywall er come to finish sanding. Well the drywall dust was everywhere. I have spent the last 2 days scrubbing walls and baseboards. GGRRH!! On the happy side, I do feel like I am ready to paint the main floor of the house. I can consult with my personal interior decorator and figure out some new colors. YAY!! Keri I need you! Thank heavens for best friends.

If next week proves to be as busy as this past week I hope my family can hang on for the ride, it should be a fun one.

The joys of life!

Spring Snow

It is getting to be depressing. The snow will not go away:( We are getting a lot of drifts in the yard and driveway, I'm not so sure the car will get out. Maybe we will have a school snow day:) then I can scrapbook and hang out in my comfy clothes tomorrow.
We are still waiting for Fluffy (the cat) to have her babies. Her tummy is getting rather large. It is another Hockey night in our house so Tod and Oakly have found their spots on the coach and bunked down for the duration of the games. Aspen and Avery are trying to catch a Hannah Montana show before bed.
It's a good night for some hot chocolate and a cuddle:)

Snow Day in April

It is Sunday April 20 and we thought we were ready for Spring but apparently Mother Nature had a different idea of our Spring. The girls dug out the winter gear and went out to play. They attached the sled to the Rhino and had some winter/spring time fun.

A Little Catch-up

Aspen and I went to our first dance competition last weekend. We both got gold, but her group beat us by .25. They were in the top five for Novice and had to go back on Sunday for a Dance off. The group did great with a silver and $200 in the end.

Tod went for his first Spring Quad ride to the lake and ended up fighting a brush fire for 3 hours because the fire department couldn't get to the fire without quads. What a hero! The stories that night at our BBQ were great.

Oakly made the Leduc soccer team. but we decided that we were going to play soccer for Thorsby this year so we wouldn't have such a big commitment. That means more camping and quading.

Avery is practicing her Tap dance on the wood floor every chance she gets. They are doing it to "The Witch Doctor" off of Alvin and the Chipmunks. It is more of a hip-hop dance, which makes her feel like she is dancing like Aspen and I.
